I'm Masouma Yavari, a photographer and painter from Afghanistan. In August 2021, amidst the upheaval of the Taliban's rise, I embarked on a journey seeking refuge and creative expression. Settling in Brazil that December, I found solace in its vibrant culture and natural beauty. Despite the distance, my heart remains connected to Afghanistan, where my photography once empowered women and children until Taliban restrictions halted our work. Yet, through my lens, I continue to amplify their voices and capture the resilience of humanity, from Kabul's streets to the beaches of Salvador. Each frame tells a story of hope amidst adversity, reminding me of the endless possibilities ahead.
